The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) had managed to take control of three regime’s outposts in Kachin State’s Hpakant Township this morning around 7am, and the regime troops retaliated with airstrikes starting from 9am, residents said. Three outposts—Aung Lian in Nam Jang area, Sai Ja and Ga Hkaran—that the KIA has seized are reported to have about 100 reinforcements in each outposts according to Kachinwaves. KIA spokesperson, Colonel Naw Bu told Myanmar Now, the reports of the clashes came out since the morning but the developments are still in the process of being confirmed, so he couldn’t confirm on the reports of three regime’s outposts being seized. But one thing that could be confirmed was that residents heard of shots being fired from the jet planes this morning, according to one on-ground source who spoke to The 74 Media.
In more clashes development, a source close to the Brigade 1 of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) said the regime was reinforcing about 200 soldiers to its troops and Border Guard Forces around Falam Taung village in Karen State’s Hpa-An Township on November 13. The KNLA Brigade 1 said it was monitoring the situation closely and said fighting could break out if the regime forces crossed the lines over Karen National Union areas, Than Lwin Times reported. In Sagaing Region, a dispute between the military troops and People’s Revolutionary Army (PRA) erupted on the road between Pale-Gantgaw around 1pm on November 13. The leader of PRA, Major Japan Gyi told DVB News that the battle was fought face-to-face, and lasted about 40 minutes. With their local expertise, PRA, teaming up with Pale-PDFs could defend themselves well, so there was no casualty on their end, but about 21 from the regime side were believed to have been killed or injured.
In Magway Region, Yaw Defense Force said a military convoy consisting of over 30 military vehicles traveling towards Kyaw town from Gantgaw town was attacked with landmines on November 11, YDF told Ayeyarwaddy Times today. Over 15 regime soldiers were reportedly killed with five vehicles destroyed by landmines during the attack. Two more military convoys were also attacked this morning in Sagaing Region’s Ye-U and Budalin townships around 9am, killing at least seven soldiers. A spokesperson of Ye-U Underground Guerilla group informed DVB News that the attack in Ye-U was a joint effort between YUG and another underground force, and the attack took out about five soldiers, and the local PDF’s attack on a military convoy of two military vehicles and three motorcycles in Budalin Township reportedly killed two soldiers. In response, the regime forces were reportedly raiding the nearby villages such as Nyaung Le and Ye Myat in Ye-U Township and Maung Htaung village in Budalin Township.
Many arsons news were reported today in two places in Sagaing Region and one in Yangon Region. The two arson attacks from Sagaing Region occurred in Khin-U Township, with the first reported on November 13 in Mayan Inn village. Around 4pm yesterday, U Thar Aye, 65, was mowing when he was arbitrarily shot to death by regime soldiers who were patrolling in the area. The same patrolling soldiers reportedly burned down two farming tents and four motorcycles for no apparent reason as well. U Thar Aye’s body was only found at night when villagers noticed he didn’t return home from work. The second arson attack happened right in the middle of the day today in The Kone Gyi village where the regime troops burned down some residents’ houses during a raid with the excuse that there were PDF members in the village. A resident told DVB News, The Kone Gyi village has no resistance force and still the regime troops continued to terrorize the residents.
The arson attack by regime troops in Yangon Region was reported in Kwangyangone Township, where over 40 residents were arrested last week in connection to an attack against a military truck on November 5. Four houses from Dayde Naw village were burned down during a raid today’s early this morning around 2am, residents confirmed to Myanmar Now. Residents believed the regime soldiers were terrorizing them in revenge for the incident which took out 7 soldiers and injured 13 others. A big fire at a Myoma Market was reported in Magway Region’s Natmauk Township. The fire started burning around 9:30pm last night, destroying at least 242 shops. Natmauk Township was imposed with an 8pm curfew, and residents suspected that there was foul play.
Another rape case by regime soldiers in ethnic region is reported today after a regime soldier admitted to raping a 62-year-old woman in Shan State’s Kutkai Township earlier this week. A new mom, Aklui, 27, was reported to have been raped by three regime soldiers on November 11 in Chin State’s Tedim Township, families and sources close to the families told RFA Burmese. According to the sources, three soldiers came to Aklui’s home around 11pm on November 11 and forced her into the bathroom with a gun pointing at her. They reportedly also hit her and smashed a plate on her head during the incident. Another one reportedly raped in front of her husband. Three of them raped her the first time at 11pm and around 12am, two of them returned back to rape her again. Three of them also took her earrings and necklace after leaving her. Aklui just gave birth a month prior, the residents said.
Just as the regime’s atrocities never seemed to end across the country, the behaviors of regime soldiers continued to show us that none of them have any humane bone left in them.
