
In the past few weeks, the world watched as epic wars nearly broke out again. Missiles lit up the sky like fireworks. The tension has eased for now, but no one knows when it might start again.
In times like this, it’s hard to expect the world to care about fragile places like Myanmar. But that doesn’t make our reality any less painful. It’s been more than four years since the military coup, and the regime is still in power. On the ground, resistance forces are slowly gaining control but on the world stage, the regime still has the upper hand.
The international community may not be able to stop the bombs. But it can choose who it recognizes. It can support the people’s government. It can help protect children and families by stopping the regime’s weapon imports. But do they hear us enough?
