July will mark a year since the regime’s secret hanging of four detainees in Insein Prison. Two of them were prominent democracy activists with decades of service to the country and the other two were newly born heroes who emerged during the wake of the Spring Revolution. Let us pay tribute to their memory with this magazine cover.
On personal levels, the month of June was immensely difficult. Our team endured a sudden loss of a dear friend, a brother and a teammate. His passing put life into perspective for all of us, teaching us what’s essential, what truly matters and what can be considered the rest. Until the day he left us, our teammate collected the data on the atrocities of the regime and clashes across the country. He despised the regime and injustice with great passion and contributed to the resistance in every possible way. His memory will forever serve as a source of strength for our platform, inspiring us to continue the journey we started together. When democracy is eventually restored, we will honor and publicize our friend’s name alongside the other stars we lost along the way.
