The path to democracy has never been straightforward. Beyond the regime’s brutal attacks, we’ve also faced disasters—Covid, a cyclone, and now a devastating earthquake. These challenges affect everyone, but the longer this drags on, the more it benefits the regime. Still, we can’t turn our back on people in need. This resistance began because we care, because we believe our people deserve better. While we seek liberation, we also carry the responsibility of protecting lives. The regime has shown over and over that it doesn’t care. Not during Covid. Not after the cyclone. Not now. We remember the victims of the earthquake, and everyone we’ve lost along the way. Their lives matter. Their memory strengthens our resolve. When we win, the victory is for all of us— who live and who left.
