The Hug

(1) When was the last time that you have hugged, or have been hugged? Who is that person? Is he an acquaintance that you just met and you hug him as a formal obligation? Is he one of your friends that you hug to congratulate him for some of his achievements? Or is he just … Continue reading The Hug

Did you know that we had a new president early this year? Right. Before being appointed as the president, he was the speaker of lower house, and prior to that, he was elected as a member of parliament from Tamwe Township, Yangon Region. Now that he’s taking greater responsibility, we have to elect another representative … Continue reading Make Your Voices Heard

Although the devil did its worst to scare off people with the use of sound bombs and live ammo in many townships of Yangon until late last night, thousands came out and marched on in various regions of the country today. Many including men dressed up in women sarongs in honour of international women day and to defy both dictatorship and outdated gender discrimination norms.
Reporting from Day 35 of living under illegal Myanmar military coup.
When Dr Sa Sa officially requested Responsibility to Protect (R2P) to UN Security Council a couple of nights ago, most of us almost punched in the air in the celebratory mode as if drones and fighter aircrafts were about a few hours away of saving our beautiful land from putschists. Sadly it’s not how UN works.
Large protests are ongoing defiantly across the country. The military thugs have been using less live ammo to protesting crowds in 2 days since the carnage on Wednesday, and the death toll is increasing only marginally. We don’t know how long this will continue, but the thought of people’s lives being spared only because something a complete taboo is being halted made us fill with disgust.
Every time the armed group used excessive forces resulting in several deaths, protesters came out even stronger the next day. The number of fallen heroes varies from different news reports but the protesters make sure that the lives lost do not go wasted by going out in the streets in various parts of the country.
Today marks another day of extreme bloodshed again in our 31 day-history of resistance against the 2021 coup.
