Myanmar’s Forgotten Crisis: Environmental Challenges amid War and Resistance

Environmental issues have been a global concern for a long time, but in Myanmar, they have rarely gotten the attention they deserve. Understandably, our country has faced more urgent problems like basic human rights and the functioning of key institutions. However, recent natural disasters have made it clear that ecological crises won’t wait for better days to come.

As we work toward a brighter future, it is important to start thinking about our environment and what we can do to protect it. With the current regime in power, things are likely to get worse. Years of neglect and harmful, non-transparent investments have only added to the damage.
